HEALING ALLERGIES + STRESS WITH REISHI - Sun Potion

FINDING CALM IN THE CITY WITH REISHI

Living in New York City for the last twelve years has taught me a thing or two about learning how to manage stress. Well, when I say learn, I mean slightly forced to learn the hard lessons of life through the demands of a fast-paced city — an experience that left me looking for answers in traditional herbal practices.

As I knew my diet was fine, I was meditating daily, and working out plenty, I decided it was time to turn to herbs and adaptogens to support my sense of balance from within.

Enter Reishi. I became drawn to Reishi after hearing of its long history in traditional herbalism. Known as the Queen of Mushrooms, Reishi has been traditionally used to support a sense of calm and center the mind. I was sold.

I began taking Reishi shortly after and am totally hooked. I’ve noticed that I feel so much more grounded and able to handle stress when it arises in my life. I’ve learned that life is not going to stop demanding us to work hard and play hard so it’s important to utilize the powerful tools of the world - especially the natural world - to support our bodies so we can keep on keeping on. Below I share my favorite butter coffee (yes, I love coffee dearly...) recipe spiked with Reishi.

Ingredients

Fresh pot of coffee

Organic nut milk - preferably homemade, (I love cashew or almond without any sugar)

1 tsp. Reishi

1 tbsp. Tocos (for rich source of Vitamin E + a touch of natural sweetness)

1 tbsp. grass fed butter

1 tsp. coconut oil

Method

Brew coffee as preferred (I love to use a French press)

Once coffee is brewed, add coffee, nut milk, Reishi, Tocos, grass fed butter, and coconut oil into blender

Blend until frothy and enjoy warm!
