Skin Food

Our view is simple: if it isn't good to put in your mouth, it isn't good for your skin. Skin Food is the collection of superfoods we eat for the skin, and the few we put on it. To eat: Pearl, Tocos, Ashitaba and Bio-Active Honey. To apply: Shea Butter, Solar Rose Water and Be Here Farm + Nature skincare.

Our Pearl is 100% freshwater pearl, harvested in Zhejiang Province, China, and micro-ground into a fine powder. Tocos is rice bran solubles from non-GMO rice grown in the USA. Ashitaba is native to Japan's coastal regions and the Izu Islands; ours is grown sustainably in Taiwan. Bio-Active Honey is a single-origin, wildcrafted honey from Australia. Solar Rose Water is made with essential oil of the Vrindavan rose. The Be Here Farm + Nature line is made by hand on a regenerative farm in the mountains between Sonoma and Napa, California.

Tocos is rice bran solubles: the fat- and water-soluble portions of brown rice bran, and a natural source of vitamin E. It is creamy and subtly sweet, so it works like a creamer. Stir 1 tablespoon (10 g) into tea, coffee, smoothies or warm milk.

About ¼ teaspoon (1 g) a day, stirred into tea, warm milk, a smoothie or raw treats. Pearl has been used in Taoist herbalism for centuries as a beauty and spirit (Shen) tonic. It can also be mixed into a face mask.

Our Shea Butter is wildcrafted and unrefined, and while it is edible and sometimes used in raw cacao recipes, we recommend using this one on the skin.
