SHATAVARI SPOTLIGHT: THE 100 PRIMORDIAL SOUNDS - Sun Potion

SHATAVARI SPOTLIGHT: THE 100 PRIMORDIAL SOUNDS

When we began the quest to bring our Transcendent Elixirs to life, we thought hard about which offerings to introduce first— hoping more would join the family when they were ready.

The importance of these offerings is not to be underestimated. With the introduction of Shatavari, we open ourselves to an array of benefits available in the most bio-available form.

Shatavari is an Ayurvedic adaptogen possessing cooling and calming effects on the whole body, aiming to help balance our doshas— and often used as a reproductive tonic. In Ayurveda, Shatavari is known as a Rasayana/rejuvenating herb. Traditionally used as a women’s tonic, it is valued for supporting a balanced response to everyday stress. Known as ’the Queen of herbs’ as it promotes love and balance, it is the main rejuvenation tonic for women.

Shatavari Lavender Lemonade by Brianna Beard

This is a very Yin potion. Yin and Yang are opposite yet complimentary energies, they are two opposing forces in nature that create balance and harmony. Yin by nature is calming, cooling, feminine, restful, restorative and inward. The lavender in this blend is deeply soothing and calming for the nervous system. I started using Shatavari after giving birth to my son, Stone. This adaptogenic herb is now a dear friend to me as I felt deeply nourished by it during my recovery in the fourth trimester. There is so much information out there about the first 3 trimesters, but not enough about what the mother needs during recovery after the birth, in what is now becoming known as the 4th trimester rather than just "postpartum." Regardless of whether you have had a child or not, Shatavari is nourishing for all tissues in the body. This is also the perfect herbal drink to pacify the heat of the summer.

Shatavari Lavender Lemonade

Ingredients

1 tbsp. lavender flowers

2 tbsp. honey

2 cups hot water

1-2 droppers Shatavari Transcendent Elixir

1/3 cup Meyer lemon juice

Method

Place the lavender in a French press or a bowl with hot water to infuse.

You can definitely use a normal lemon, but there’s nothing sweeter than a Meyer if you can find them!

After 30 minutes strain the lavender and blend with honey and lemon juice.

Taste and adjust, if too sweet or sour add water, if not sweet enough add honey.

I recommend chilling this down in the fridge.

~Sip and enjoy~
