ADAPTOGENS TO CULTIVATE RADIANCE FROM THE INSIDE OUT - Sun Potion

ADAPTOGENS TO CULTIVATE RADIANCE FROM THE INSIDE OUT

Winter is here... and in Paris, the season is synonymous with cozy wool sweaters, morning warm porridge and comforting drinks. As you may know by now, I am passionate about food and it's impact on the skin, so I am always looking for nourishing ingredients for my morning potions and to add into my meals. I’m most excited about adaptogens, which are an unlimited source of benefits for our immune system and overall vitality. One of my favorites to use for glowing skin specifically is Sun Potion’s Pearl Powder - it’s rich in zinc and antioxidants, which are both treasures for our skin‘s health and appearance.

"Pearl powder is a source of minerals including calcium, zinc, iron, selenium and amino acids. It’s also rich in antioxidants and helps support the body's natural collagen production." - Sun Potion

I created this recipe to be able to sip on in the morning or at any time of the day without putting my metabolism in the process of digestion, but still giving it good nutrients to start the day. This recipe contains macadamia nuts, which are a great source of vitamins, minerals and fats. Because it contains monounsaturated fatty acids, also known as the "good fat," macadamia nuts may help prevent cardiovascular disease as well as Type 2 Diabetes. This drink also contains Acai powder, which is rich in antioxidants and may help to protect the skin from oxidative stress, as well as environmental factors that may accelerate skin aging. It’s high concentration of vitamins A, C and E also make it a popular choice to help dullness and boost skin radiance. Baobab powder is full of minerals, calcium, phosphorus, zinc and essential fatty acids that are needed for proper functioning of our body, and may contribute to the balance of skin and to the regeneration and protection of the epidermis.

Inner Beauty Potion

Equipment

A Vitamix or Blendtec type blender (do not use a Nutribullet, as you risk blowing up the blender)

 Ingredients

¼ cup macadamia nuts

½ tsp. Sun Potion Pearl

½ tsp. baobab powder

1 tsp. acai powder

1 pitted Medjool date

1 pinch Himalayan salt

a few drops Rose Water

The night before...

Soak macadamia nuts overnight

 Method

Heat water until it is simmering

Rinse the soaked macadamia nuts and add into the blender with the simmering water, the Medjool date and the pinch of Himalayan salt

Blend until the mixture is transformed into "macadamia nut milk"

Then, add the rose water, acai powder and baobab and blend together 15 seconds

To finish, add the Pearl Powder and blend additional 10 seconds

Sprinkle with some dried rose petals, and savor this
delicious "Beautyfuel comfort drink"

Note:

Why do not we blend everything together?
Because hot water could burn the benefits of adaptogens and superfoods!
