CHLORELLA + PEARL FACE MASK - Sun Potion

CHLORELLA + PEARL FACE MASK

Say hello to your skin’s new favorite mask! This nourishing face mask offers gentle exfoliation and a fresh, revitalized feel. Quick and easy to put together this is a wonderful self-care ritual to add into your weekly routine!

Why these ingredients

Chlorella: Not only is chlorella a nutrient-packed superfood for the body, but these single-celled freshwater algae are traditionally used in topical masks to nourish the skin and leave it feeling refreshed.

Pearl powder: Pearl powder, which is mostly used in Chinese medicine, and has also been used historically in Ayurveda, is traditionally valued for the skin — both when taken internally and applied topically. Applied to the skin, it is traditionally used to support a smooth, even-looking complexion.

Raw Honey: Honey has been used in traditional skincare since ancient times. When applied topically, it is known for calming, cleansing, and hydrating the skin. The natural enzymes present gently exfoliate by helping to remove dead cells, leaving the skin feeling purified.

Pearl + Chlorella Face Mask

Ingredients

1 tsp. Chlorella

1/4 tsp. Pearl powder

1 tbsp. Bio-Active Honey

1-3 tsp filtered water, or until desired consistency is reached

Optional

½ tsp baking soda, ½ tsp lemon, ½ tsp plain yogurt (for deeper exfoliation & astringent effect)

Method

Place Chlorella and Pearl powder in a small bowl. Add water, starting with 1 tsp. at a time. Combine to form a thick mixture. Lastly mix in Bio-Active Honey & any additional ingredients.

Prepare the skin by steaming the face or use a warm, damp washcloth to open the pores.

Apply the combined mixture to a well cleansed face. Cleansing first with a gentle cardamom cleanser or a honey bamboo facial scrub takes this skincare routine to the next level!

Leave on your skin for 10-15 minutes. Rinse off and follow with your favorite moisturizer — a mushroom mylk moisturizer is truly divine.
