Transformational Foods for a Transformational Life

Welcome to the journal - an online, intersectional wellness platform - to connect, educate and inspire our international community.

What’s the easiest way to take the powders?

Hi there, the easiest way to take the powders is to add the recommended amount into a warm drink of choice, like your morning coffee, tea or smoothie. Let the hot liquid cool a bit before adding the herbs, so that you don't harm the beneficial living nutrients. Also, you can add them to a warm soup or use them in salad dressings. That being said, there are a number of different ways to take the herbs! You can check out our journal by clicking here to see how others are incorporating them into their routine. We love adding them to a warm potion with a nut milk base, please check out our journal page in the Alchemy section for recipes to get you started!

Can you recommend a tea that I can drink at night to help me relax and unwind?

There are a number of wonderful teas you can drink at night to help you relax and unwind. Additionally we have a few specific herbs that you can add in to help support additional relaxation and rest. Ashwagandha, Reishi, He Shou Wu are great additions, to help support restful sleep, cortisol levels and support relaxation. You can use our powder form of Ashwagandha or add a dropperful of our Ashwagandha Transcendent Elixir. We love some Reishi and Ashwagandha Transcendent Elixir in our  Spring Dragon Longevity Tea with some Super Honey!

Dear Sun Potion, after a long battle with endometriosis and adenomyosis, I had surgery a year ago that included a hysterectomy. Following surgery, my hair has been falling out, thinned and coarse. My skin is painfully dry and scaly, and I'm packing on the lbs. Please help! SP: Hi there, we are so sorry to hear about your battles, but we would love to help as best as we can! For help with your hair loss, we recommend He Shou Wu. For help with hormonal balance, we recommend Pine Pollen and our Shatavari Transcendent Elixir. For skin nourishment, we recommend Shea Butter (our favorite!), Solar Rose Water and Pearl. For help with stress, we recommend Ashwagandha and Mucuna Pruriens. And lastly, Anandamide may be a great one to help with appetite and metabolism, as it contains a blend of different herbs and cacao, which gives you a sweet fix but also contains cayenne, cinnamon, turmeric and black pepper, which can help boost your metabolism!* *we recommend consulting an herbalist or your practitioner if currently on medication to see what will work best for you during this time.

Can I take Yin powder and Pearl and Ashitaba at the same time?

Yes, you can take Yin Power, Pearl and Ashitaba at the same time! Our Yin Power is a blend that includes Pearl, so we recommend adding just the 1/4 dose to if you want a bit extra! Use the recommended doses according to each product, and gradually over time you can add more or less of each, depending on how you feel. Listen to your body and your energy levels. !

Is Ashwaganda, Lion's Mane, and Triphala a good and safe combination together?

Yes! These three are a great combination, as each one serves quite a different purpose. Lion's Mane is great for supporting cognitive health, Ashwagandha is an amazing adaptogen that may support stress and restful sleep, and the Triphala Transcendent Elixir is a digestion tonic. You can start with a slightly smaller dose of each to see how you feel and then gradually take the recommended dose size. *We do recommend trying this blend in the evening as Triphala is for gentle detox Thank you for writing in!

If taking an antidepressant already that's an SSRI (Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor), is it safe to also take Mucuna Pruriens which contains 15% L-dopa, for further mood stabalization? I just don't want to increase the dose of my prescription any higher, as it just makes me sleepier! Thank you! A: Hi there, thanks for asking! We recommend consulting an herbalist or practitioner about Mucuna Pruriens while on SSRI medication. Everyone has a different experience with the herbs and we recommend consulting someone who can work directly with you.

Hello, I am gluten intolerant and allergic to many foods. Inflammation is a major issue for me. I also have a bad back due to car accident many years ago. I recently had surgery and unfortunately i still have a lot of nerve pain, inflammation and stiffness. Do you recommend any of your supplements? Many thanks Delia Hi there, we are so sorry to hear about your accident and subsequent pain. Some adaptogens and herbs that may help with fighting inflammation are Ashwagandha powder or tincture (made with grape alcohol and not grain), Cordyceps mushroom, Chaga mushroom, Astragalus, and Green Adaptogen (the Suma and Maca in this blend may help reduce inflammation). A good one to support flexibility would be Eucommia. Though these are ALL gluten free, we recommend you speak with your doctor first to avoid any intolerances and potential allergic reations.

I have GERD (chronic acid reflux). Which one(s) of your potion do you recommend to help with that? And what do you recommend to swap in for my morning coffee? Thank you.

Hi there... it seems the best thing to focus on for supporting acid reflux would be adaptogens and tonic herbs that work to support healthy digestion. I recommend a tea of Chamomile which may soothe the digestive tract with a dropperful of Triphala elixir in some evening tea, maybe alongside a spoonful of raw honey. This combination may support and soothe symptoms. If you are looking for an alternative to coffee, check out our Chaga, Moringa or White Dragon Matcha!
