Since most of us are spending more time at home and our routines have changed, it feels nice to sneak in a little skin ritual when we can. I love to multi-task — I'll leave the mask on whilst I clean the house or do some work emails, which makes an everyday task a little more rewarding. I love to make masks with kitchen pantry items. It feels fun to make 'potions' for the face, a bit like when kids make mud pies in the garden. A little bit of this, a little bit of that. Honey is a great place to start — it is thick, hydrating and lovely to apply, and it has been used on skin for as long as anyone has kept bees. Sun Potion's Bio-Active Honey is particularly special, raw and unheated, and it carries an Active Honey Factor (AHF) rating of 40+ — an independently measured figure describing its bioavailable active oxygen content.
Next on the menu is Sun Potion's White Dragon Matcha. Matcha is rich in antioxidants and gives the mask its wonderful deep green colour — and, yes, the swamp monster effect.
Pearl powder is up next. Sun Potion's freshwater Pearl will add so much to your mask — Taoist herbalists have valued it for centuries for inner and outer radiance, and it contains at least 30 trace minerals including silica and selenium.
I like to take a teaspoon of each and mix into a paste using Sun Potion's Solar Rose Water, adding a little at a time to create the desired consistency. Rose opens the heart and smells joyful, and it keeps the mask soft — this isn't like a clay mask, it won't dry and crack, so you can leave it on for as long as feels comfortable. Don't forget the neck and décolletage!

MethodTake 1 teaspoon of Bio-Active Honey and add to a ceramic bowl. Add in Matcha and Pearl and mix. Slowly add Solar Rose Water (you can remove the spray cap for an easy pour) until you achieve your desired consistency. Paint onto the face and leave on for as long as you like! |

How long do I leave the mask on?
As long as you like — it isn't a clay mask, so it won't dry out or crack. Twenty minutes is plenty; longer is fine.
Can I make it without Solar Rose Water?
Plain water or a hydrosol will work to loosen the paste. Solar Rose Water is what gives it the scent.
