The Mountain Transcendent Elixir

This super-potent blend of adaptogens was crafted to support masculine virility and has a wide range of compounds aimed to encourage overall well-being and vitality. Ashwagandha is a cornerstone of the Ayurvedic Medicine Cabinet— known as “Indian ginseng” for its immune-fortifying and invigorating properties. It is considered an adaptogen, as it harmonizes physiological functions in a variety of ways and may support hormonal balance in both men and women. The name Ashwagandha comes from the root, which is said to have “the smell of a horse” and is considered a food to support stamina and sexual health in men and women (with “horse-like vigor”). Ashwagandha is reputed to support emotional balance and brain function and contains potent antioxidants which may support healthy immune function. In a recent study conducted by the U.S. National Library of Medicine, it was reported that “The root of Ashwagandha is regarded as tonic, aphrodisiac, narcotic, diuretic, anthelmintic, astringent, thermogenic and stimulant... and indicate clinical use of Withania somnifera in the prevention and treatment of many stress induced diseases like arteriosclerosis, premature aging, arthritis, diabetes, hypertension and malignancy.” (1,2) Next up in the lineup comes Fenugreek, an annual forage legume and popular spice crop that has been used for centuries. Emerging research has shown that Fenugreek may help reduce blood sugar and cholesterol levels.(3) The Fenugreek plant, known as Methi in Ayurveda is filled with phytochemicals, vitamins and minerals and has been reported to show strong antioxidant and antimicrobial properties. The third ingredient in this alchemical blend is Amla Berry or Indian Gooseberry, a revered nutritive food in Ayurvedic medicine and one of the three fruits in the ancient Triphala blend used to support digestive health. Amla is used for a wide range of benefits such as supporting healthy cholesterol levels and blood sugar levels. In a 2013 study originally published in the European Journal of Cancer Prevention, this plant was regarded as “arguably the most important medicinal plant in the Indian traditional system of medicine, the Ayurveda. Various parts of the plant are used to treat a range of diseases, but the most important is the fruit. The fruit is used either alone or in combination with other plants to treat many ailments such as common cold and fever; as a diuretic, laxative, liver tonic, refrigerant, stomachic, restorative, alterative, antipyretic, anti-inflammatory, hair tonic; to prevent peptic ulcer and dyspepsia, and as a digestive (4).” The fourth ingredient in our Mountain blend is Shilajit, coined "the conquer of mountains,” a powerful adaptogenic offering that has shown potential to increase testosterone levels as well as sperm count and sperm motility.(5,6) Shilijat is a prized and ancient alchemical substance which is derived from mineral deposits in high altitude, mountainous regions of South Asia and is used here, to magnify the properties of the other ingredients in this blend.
